The setup file of the IncrediBuild Enterprise Edition should only be installed on machines that host an active IncrediBuild main Coordinator. The setup file installs new components that are only relevant to the machine hosting the Coordinator.
The components include an internal Apache web server, which will be used to host the IncrediBuild Dashboard (Copy), and a PostgreSQL database which IncrediBuild will use to store the data generated by IncrediBuild.
In the upgrade process, it is advised when upgrading the Coordinator, to allow the upgrade process to upgrade the Agents connected to the Coordinator if needed.
This can be done automatically during the upgrade process if you choose this option during the installation.
When you upgrade from IncrediBuild Pro Edition 9.2 to IncrediBuild Enterprise Edition 9.2, the only changes will be to the machine hosting your Coordinator. The Agent machines will not require an upgrade
However, if you are upgrading from an older version than IncrediBuild Pro Edition 9.2, the Agent machines will need to be upgraded to the necessary version.
If you are upgrading from IncrediBuild Pro Edition 9.2, you will be able to see the data we have already accumulated form your previous builds over the past week on the IncrediBuild Dashboard.
If you are installing for the first time and not upgrading from a previous version of IncrediBuild, it is advised to install the IncrediBuild Enterprise Edition setup file on the machine that will host the main Coordinator and then use the smaller installation file that will be located where you installed IncrediBuild.
This installer file can be found under "IncrediBuildInstallFolder\IncrediBuild\install.exe."
This smaller installer file can be used to install the IncrediBuild Agents, a Backup Coordinator, and single use VMs on the other machines that you'd like to add to your IncrediBuild Infrastructure.
Using the entire IncrediBuild Enterprise Edition setup file can be used as well, but the setup will only be used to install the required Agents and not the other components that are necessarily installed on your main Coordinator machine.
We suggest using the smaller installer file as it takes up less space than the main Enterprise Edition installer file, since the majority of the included components in the full Enterprise Edition installer file are not necessary for your machines hosting Agents.
