The IncrediBuild Enterprise Edition installer should be installed on the host machine that you intend on using within your IncrediBuild infrastructure. 

During the first installation you will install an IncrediBuild Coordinator, PostgreSQL, which serves as the database that will store the data regarding your builds and Agents utilization, and Apache Server, which serves as the host for the the IncrediBuild Dashboard. 

Additionally you have the option of installing an Agent on your host machine. This is optional in case you rather only have Agents installed on other machines in your infrastructure instead.

Notes: 

  • For your first installation it is suggested to use the Typical Installation option. This will allow you install  both an IncrediBuild Coordinator and an IncrediBuild Agent on your host machine. 
  • It is not necessary to install an Agent on your Main Coordinator machine. However it is necessary to have Agents on the other machines within your Infrastructure to harness the capabilities of IncrediBuild.  
  • Use the custom Installation option to manually select which components you would like installed on your machine, besides that, the procedure is the same.

Note: Make sure your selected destination is large enough to contain your database as it could become really big in size over time. It is suggested to have at least 5GB of space available for this.

Installing Additional Agents

Notes:

  • After you have finished your initial setup and have a Coordinator installed on your host machine, you don't need to install the entire Enterprise Edition installation file on the remote Agent machines. There is a file called "install.exe", which will be located in the directory wherever you have intially installed IncrediBuild. (C:\Program Files (x86)\Xoreax\IncrediBuild\install.exe).
  • This is suggested since you don't need PostgreSQL nor the Apache server on these Agent machines, so the installation file is much smaller.
  • Additionally, the smaller installation file includes options for installing a backup Coordinator and single-use VM instances if needed.

To install IncrediBuild Agents:

To install additional Agents on other machines within the network, repeat the installation procedure, but connect to the previously installed main Coordinator, rather than creating a new one.
