Upgrading from IncrediBuild Pro to IncrediBuild Enterprise Edition

If you already have an IncrediBuild infrastructure up and running it's really easy to upgrade to the IncrediBuild Enterprise Edition and apply it to all machines within the infrastructure.


When upgrading, PostgreSQL, which serves as the database that will store the data regarding your builds and Agents utilization, and Apache Server, which serves as the connection between the database and the IncrediBuild Dashboard, will be installed onto your machine.

Notes:

  • You must obtain a valid IncrediBuild Enterprise Edition license in order to proceed with the installation process.
  • You can't go forward with the Enterprise Edition installation without a valid license already loaded into your main Coordinator.
  • To obtain a license contact us at sales@incredibuild.com.


To upgrade to IncrediBuild Enterprise Edition:

Your IncrediBuild Agents connected to the main Coordinator will be upgraded automatically during setup, if you decide to keep the checkbox at the end of the setup process checked. It is checked by default.

  1. Download the IncrediBuild Enterprise Edition installer file.
  2. After you have the installer file downloaded, you may begin the installation process.
  3. Open the installer file and you will be greeted by this screen:
    • Click on Next to proceed. 
  4. Select where you want your IncrediBuild Database installed and select a port to be used for the locally installed Dashboard. We suggest the default port unless it conflicts with a port currently in use.
    • Click Next to proceed.

      Note: Make sure your selected destination is large enough to contain your database as it could become really big in size over time. It needs to be atleast 5 GB.


  5. The components are ready to be upgraded.

      Notes:

      • Popups may appear during the installation process for the Apache server. Make sure you allow access through the Windows Firewall.PostgreSQL, which serves as the database that will store the data regarding your IncrediBuild executions and Agents utilization, and Apache Server, which serves as the connection between the database and the IncrediBuild Dashboard will be installed.





  6. Thew new components are now installed. The "Remotely update other computers" option is checked by default. This will upgrade all the IncrediBuild Agents within your infrastructure to IncrediBuild Enterprise Edition once you click Finish.

  7. Click Finish to complete setup. Your IncrediBuild infrastructure is now upgraded to IncrediBuild Enterprise Edition.

A desktop shortcut for the Dashboard will be created for easy access,

If you are upgrading from IncrediBuild Pro Edition 9.2, you will be able to see the data we have already accumulated form your previous builds over the past week on the IncrediBuild Dashboard.

When you upgrade from IncrediBuild Pro Edition 9.2 to IncrediBuild Enterprise Edition 9.2, the only changes will be to the machine hosting your Coordinator. The Agent machines will not require an upgrade.

However, if you are upgrading from an older version than IncrediBuild Pro Edition 9.2, the Agent machines will need to be upgraded to the necessary version.
